Analog Power Supplies
PS 9000
During the development of the new series of powersupplies PS 9000, it was considered to reduce the high number of variants of laboratory power supplies and replace it by only a few.
This should be achieved with a wide-range input as well as with a flexible output stage. At the new concept with this flexible output stage the user is able to chose between a high output voltage or a high output current, both limited in its product (power). It means, that with a maximum output voltage of, for instance, 80V the output current of a 3.0kW can reach maximum 37.5A. Beyond this limit the power limiter is activated.
The series of units is designed very user-friendly. Switches on the front allow the user to set preset values for current and overvoltage protection (OVP) and to read them out on the LC displays. The functionality of fixed voltage power supplies is implemented by the push of a switch named “Value fix“. In this mode the 10-turn potentiometers for current and voltage are deactivated and redirected to internal trimmers, which can be accessed on the front by means of a screw driver.
All power and voltages classes are available as 19“ version for rack mounting or as desktop version. Alternatively, the smallest power class (1,5 kW) is additionally available as stand-alone desktop version. The dimensions are stated in the technichal specifications of the different classes.
Available options:
- external USB adaptor UTA12, for remote control via the built-in analogue interface
- CAN interface (internal)
- IEEE/GPIB interface with RS232 (internal)
Option ZH: "Active load with car ignition sequence" (source-sink principle)
Special features:
- internal, active load for pulsed loads up to 2400W for the fast discharge of output capacities and for the attainment of very short fall times at voltage changes, as well as the simulation of a car start characteristics curve by a push of a button, similiar to DIN40839
- available by customer request: reduced output capacity for shorter rise times and even shorter rise times
Integrable into all 80V models of the series PS 9000 and PSI 9000.
