The new laboratory power supply series PS 2000 B offers four models with 2x 100W or 2x 160W output power and 42V or 84V output voltage. Very compact and practical enclosure design and a very good price-performance ratio are significant for these devices. All models are closed on the top and the bottom and have no external heat sinks and are thus ideally suited for the use in educational facilities, schools or workshops. There is furthermore an auxiliary output with adjustable voltage of 3...6V and approx. 12W.

The set values for output voltage and current, the overvoltage protection (OVP) threshold and the overcurrent protection (OCP) threshold, as well as the actual output values of voltage and current are clearly displayed on a blue, illuminated LDC. The devices can be operated as constant current or constant voltage source. The output voltage is available through recessed 4mm safety sockets on the front.

Voltage and current are continuously adjustable from 0 to nominal values and the OCP/OVP threshold within 0...110% of the corresponding nominal value. The flexible output stage allows to adjust either a high output voltage in combination with a low output current or vice versa, while always maintaining the maximum output power.

The new "Tracking" features enables simultaneous control of both outputs by the touch of a button. The adjustment for the outputs is then synchronised and can help to achieve a better current distribution on parallel connection of the outputs or a better voltage distribution on series connection.

A mini USB port is integrated by default, offering the possibility to remotely control and monitor the device whenever required. Remote control and monitoring is done with the free Windows software EasyPS2000, which is optionally obtainable. The software requires a paid license for every PS 2000 B unit. Included with the software CD is a USB cable. The software is a part of the EasySoft suite and can control one out of x units per instance. The software offers following features:

  • Monitoring and control of all device features
  • Setting of voltage, current, OVP & OCP threshold
  • Display of actual output value device status (output on/off, overtemperature, errors etc.)
  • Setting the device status (remote control on/off, output on/off)
  • Data logging to CSV files
  • Automated function runs via CSV values tables
  • Software updates of the device (if required) and device license management

Alternatively, the user can create custom applications to control the power supply. The communication protocol is available in the Download section.
